ABOUT US

Over the past several years, the Stephenson Band Program has earned local, state and national awards, including: Superior Band Ratings over the past ten years in GMEA district events. Marching in the nationally televised 113th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California; the featured guests for the Bands of America Super Regional in Atlanta, Georgia; Offered an extended invitation by the Chinese government as a guest performer for the National Festival of Flowers in Beijing, China.

ABOUT SHS Bands

Our nationally reknown Wind Ensemble was selected to perform for the 2005 Georgia Music Educators Association Convention in Savannah, Georgia as well as being invited to perform at the 2005 Southeastern United States National Honor Band Clinic in Troy, Alabama. 2007 marched in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C.; and the Macy's Day Parade in New York. These and many other accomplishments of the Stephenson High School Band Program are a testament to our student's resilience and thirst for programs that continue to challenge their personal limits. Currently, graduating band students from the Stephenson Band Program have been offered over 12 million dollars in music scholarships for various colleges and universities.

SONIC SOUND MARCHING BAND

This ensemble assembles during the summer , fall, and spring.

WIND ENSEMBLE

This ensemble is the top organization of the department, playing level 6 compositions.

PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE

This ensemeble consist of percussionist in all grade levels 9th -12th grade.

JAZZ BAND

Jazz Band students rehearse throught the summer full and even spring on occasions.

SYMPHONIC BAND

This enesemble consist of intermediate level players organizing in the winter and spring.

BRASS CHOIR

Brass Choir is an enesemble that students must be a brass instrumentalist to participate.
