Jazz Honor Band of America  Concert Honor Band of America Band News 7/22/2010 Greetings Boosters, Thank you to all of the boosters that came out to our 1st general body meeting of the 2010/2011 band season.    Please note there are several important dates coming up regarding the SHS band season Band Camp begins July 26th-August 6th from 1pm-9pm.  Please wear comfortable clothing, sneakers, hat, and a SHS or SMS band shirt.   If your student does not have a SHS/SMS band shirt, they need to wear black, royal blue or white t-shirts.  Please be sure all students are well hydrated prior to and during band camp. Also, please bring snacks and water or your may bring money to purchase items from the canteen.  On both Fridays, band camp will be dismissed at 6:00pm The canteen will be open during band camp for break!  Band registration will be August 14th from 8-4 in the band room.  Please bring a photocopy (front & back) of your student's health insurance card. Please note if your student's band honorarium is paid in full by August 14th the bundle (3 band t-shirts, spats, and gloves) will be free.  The finance team will accept cash, money orders or cashier's checks made payable to SHS Band Boosters, Inc.  NO personal checks will be accepted. The Business Manager will be available during band camp to update contact information and medical forms for the returning band students. The finance team will be available Monday thru Friday beginning July 26th to collect payments for honorariums. Parents, please make sure your student's instrument is tuned up for the band year. Alumni Corner SHS Band Alumni and Alumni Parents...For those of you who do not know, I am Brandi Roberts, the Band Alumni Association Coordinator. I am searching for any band alumni (no...you did not have to be in marching band, as long as you were a part of the band program I want YOU!!!) or parents of band alumni (this does include the drill team) who can put me in contact with their children. I will try to keep my messages short and sweet. I would like to welcome the class of 2010 to the Band Alumni Association.   This year was very successful!  Through fundraisers and donations, we were able to purchase yard markers, walkie-talkies, and reserved tape for the band.  We were able to give away our first annual book scholarship to Jabarri Shabazz.  We were also able to purchase Alumni T-Shirts.  In order to continue doing these things and more, I need you!   It has been suggested that we have a facebook/twitter account.  We also need to do some fundraising.  If you are interested in helping, please respond to email shsbaa@hotmail.com and let me know of your interest and what you would like to do to help.   2010 Graduates     Name                College  Jimi Marks Kennesaw St  India Kimbro UGA  Corey J.
